Encore Music Theater! - June 15, 2013

Happy Weekend Everyone! If you're looking to extend your weekend fun just a wee bit more, consider coming out to our show on Monday night! Mondays are "dark nights" in Theaters and we're thrilled to be performing at The Encore Musical Theater in downtown Dexter, MI. Not only is this a way to spice up your Monday night...you'll also be supporting Local Music and Local Theater. Proceeds from the evening will go to support The Encore in their upcoming season. TPF @ Encore Musical Theatre Company in Dexter! - June 11, 2013

Hey friends! We'll be performing at the Encore Musical Theatre Company in downtown Dexter next Monday night at 7:30pm. This is a special performance and most of the funds raised will go directly to the theatre to help with their upcoming season. As many of you know, I also work in theatre professionally and this is a cause dear to my heart! You can purchase tickets at their website or directly at the door. Home! - May 29, 2013

3,260 miles, 12 states, and many, many happy memories later...we're home!! We are absolutely exhausted but thrilled to have had such an incredible experience at Kerrville. We'll be posting more pictures and moments on here later but, for now, we rest Thank you to everyone for all the support, encouragement, and laughs on our journey southbound. We love you guys! - Ro

We got to spend a few hours in the French Quarter of New Orleans on our way home. We could literally see the city from the highway and just had to stop. On our way out of Louisiana now and rocking out to Detroit Pleasure Society. Carrying the vibe of New Orleans with us...but Detroit style! - Ro

We drove through Moore, Oklahoma late last night. I wish we could adequately put into words how truly devastated that area is right now. It broke our hearts looking at all that wreckage and our prayers are going out to those affected by the tornado. Absolutely unreal. - Ro

Moore, Oklahoma: We Can Help! - May 21, 2013

Here are a few things we can do to help from wherever we are:

  1. Text REDCROSS to 90999 to give $10 to American Red Cross Disaster Relief, donate online, or donate by phone at 1-800-RED CROSS.
  2. Donate online or text STORM to 80888 to contribute $10 to the Salvation Army's relief efforts or make a donation by phone at 1-800-SAL-ARMY. If you're sending a check make sure you put the words "Oklahoma Tornado Relief" on the check, and mail it to: The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 12600, Oklahoma City, OK., 73157.
  3. Los Angeles-based international relief agency Operation USA announced it's providing emergency aid where needed to community-based health organizations across Oklahoma. Donate online at www.opusa.org, by phone at 1-800-678-7255 or, by check made out to Operation USA, 7421 Beverly Blvd., PH, Los Angeles, CA 90036. You can also donate $10 by texting AID to 50555. Corporate donations of bulk quantities of disaster-appropriate supplies are also being requested.

Crazy? You Bet! Thank You! - May 19, 2013

Friends, you never cease to amaze us. So many great shows in SE Michigan tonight and you PACKED the place. We'll be heading to Texas with huge smiles on our faces. We debuted three (yes, THREE) new tunes tonight: Deep River Blues, I Miss You and Moon Be Thine (a lullaby). And, finally, the highlight of the evening: Seeing our beloved Susie Keat in the crowd and back to her usual hostessing duties. All is right with our world. See you when we get back! - J

A Show at The Ark & a Good Deed! - April 17, 2013

We'll be at The Ark next Tuesday, 4/23 for their Take A Chance Tuesday series. While this show is free, they are encouraging audience members to bring some non-perishable food items to donate to the Food Gatherers. The food donated will go to help the hungry in Washtenaw County. A show AND a good deed? That is a spectacular Tuesday evening, friends :) - Ro

Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk FINALIST! - April 16, 2013

We have some BIG news!!! This morning John was notified that he was selected as one of the finalists at the Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Contest! This is an incredible honor! He submitted Antietam Creek and Don't Look Down When You Go and we'll be heading to Texas next month to perform them both in front of a panel of judges. I am SO incredibly proud of my duo partner right now. WE'RE GOIN' TO TEXAS!!!! AHHH! - Ro

Guitars for Kids! - April 6, 2013

The Guitars for Kids fundraiser is tonight! Doors open at 5pm at Callahan's in Auburn Hills. We'll be your hosts for the evening and will pick a few tunes as well ;) Join us and help raise money to put Guitars in the hands of future Michigan songwriters!
